3 Day Workshop: Acting & Improv

Youth Ensemble Theater will be joining us for this fabulous 3 Day Workshop!

This theater program will teach acting and long-form improvisation skills, and immerse  participating 4th through 8th graders in a range of acting techniques, and in the process of creating a character from scratch! Actors will work as an acting ensemble and be facilitated by director, Amy Poux, as well as veteran Youth Ensemble Theater members in the games, characters, and inventive situations that they enact.

Poux is the former Director of Education for the Film Society of Lincoln Centerfounder and former Executive Director of Working Playground, Inc. (AKA: Urban Arts Partnership) which is an arts education organization that provides in-depth arts experiences to thousands of children annually in public school systems nationally. She is the Educational Specialist at Stockade Works, and current Coordinator of Special Projects & Educational Enrichment at Ulster BOCES. As a former professional actress and theater director, Amy has done television, and appeared in and directed Off-Broadway as well as experimental theater in New York City, at the Kennedy Center, and in regional theaters nationally.
