American Sign Language

Thursdays, 3:15 - 4:15
Jan. 10 - Mar. 7
Grades: K - 2

This class will introduce students to American Sign Language (ASL), providing an opportunity not only to learn a new language, but also to consider the world through the eyes of individuals who communicate visually. Students will learn the mechanics of signing, and also develop an understanding of the cultural practices particular to those who approach the world from a visual perspective. As a culmination, students will work collaboratively to prepare conversational presentations to share with their peers.
