About Ken McGloin: Ken has been teaching music for over 20 years, working with children of all ages from 5 to 70. He is committed to helping students to both explore a wide range of music and pursue musical goals. Ken has a Bachelor of Science from Suny New Paltz. His previous teaching positions include SUNY New Paltz, Suffolk Community College and Head of Music at Poughkeepsie Day School. Currently, he is teaching private lessons in guitar, bass and ukulele and leading ensembles at both HMS and Poughkeepsie Day School.
Pop Icons 2020 Session One
Students pick a genre or artist of their liking and then participate in weekly supervised rehearsals of music chosen. Emphasis will be given to stylistic integrity, as well as melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic accuracy. All instruments as well as singers welcome! Students who participate in Pop-Icons will have opportunities to perform both, in and out of the school, throughout the year.
Thursdays, 3:15 – 4:45 January 16 - March 12 (8 sessions)
with a performance opportunity on March 14th at the Variety Show here at High Meadow. (Note: No class on February 20)
